Who We Are

Historic Jamestown Society is a 501(c)(3) private, non-profit corporation, chartered by the State of North Carolina in 1974, which holds membership in the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Historic Jamestown Society is the owner and operator of Mendenhall Homeplace.

Our Mission

The Historic Jamestown Society interprets and preserves the rich heritage of Jamestown and its surrounding communities by exploring, sharing, and documenting the significant stories, experiences, and material cultures of the past to promote tolerance, inspire peace, and highlight the necessity of education.
